I thoroughly enjoyed watching the sea otters on my trek to Gull Island out about 3 miles south of the Homer Spit, in Kachemak Bay. I could have watched them all day long. Did you know that 90% of the worlds Sea Otters live in coastal Alaska and that they eat 25% of their body weight in food every day. Their have the thickest fur of any animal - wow! And to keep warm, they spend lots of time grooming themselves. I wonder if that is why they spin round and round so much too LOL.
